Telling authentic brand stories in the educational sector has become a bit of a niche for us. And when Bloxham School in Oxfordshire commissioned us to help them with their digital strategy we jumped right on the case.
Bloxham School has a strong ethos, big ambition and an expectation that every child will flourish. It has a desire to develop students as critical thinkers and independent learners through an all-round holistic approach to education. They believe strongly in preparing young people for life beyond the school gates, with the core skills and the finest academic qualifications needed to be successful and adaptable in an ever changing world.
The brief was to produce an elegant, bold and brave new website, that would accurately portray life at the school and promote their core educational hallmarks. The website needed to consistently convey Bloxham School’s brand promise and help reinforce this promise right through from an initial school visit, to school life and beyond.
Every one of our projects starts with asking a lot of questions, so only after we conducted a series of stakeholder interviews we summarised the user and business requirements and were ready to work on the structure of the website, both in page groupings and in individual page priorities.
The resulting website has a high degree of information-giving and also maintains an optimum level of engagement by continuing to celebrate Bloxham School’s key qualities and successes.
Bloxham School identified five hallmarks as part of their brand positioning strategy, which were used as a brief for the website’s photography and homepage video. Over the course of two days our team covered the school’s key areas and topics allowing us to produce a 30 second piece that touched upon all five of these hallmarks with the aim to provide a quick introduction to the school and its grounds.
